ARCHIVES: Root
THE HALLWAY GALLERY
625 GARFIELD STREET
Root is a multimedia exhibition that brings artists into dialogue with the land, exploring ecology, care, and our shared responsibility to the environments we inhabit. Through works that highlight intimacy with place, cycles of decay and renewal, and the human impact on the natural world, it serves as a reminder that art endures – not through abundance, but through adaptation.
As an extension of its themes, ARCHIVES and Acadiana Cares will host a community-led mutual-aid gathering during the event. Guests will receive free entry with the donation of non-perishable food items or essential hygiene products. Those unable to bring a donation may attend for a $5 admission fee, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Acadiana Cares and its vital community programs. Suggested donation items include canned goods, rice, pasta, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, and menstrual products.
The opening reception for Root will take place on December 13th, 2025 at the Hallway Gallery from 4-9pm.
