Carey Hamburg has had a 30 year career of working in the fields of education technology, multimedia training development, and digital arts. He has taught in settings of K-12 education as a technology instructor and Arts integration specialist. He has also created and presented workshops in a variety of topics such as creativity, Tape Art, technology integration, and online accessibility issues. Throughout his career in technology and education, Carey has maintained an interest and participation in the Visual Arts.  

Carey has produced paintings, sculptures, theater scenery, costumes, and a variety of digital media works. He often uses materials such as cardboard, found objects, recycled plastics, and building materials. His current focus is in the design and development of experiential environments for exhibits and events. Carey’s largest project to date was the Water Drop Dome he built as part of the 2022 Halloween Art & Nature Festival at the Atelier de La Nature. The 25’ diameter dome was filled with large-scale sculpture of microscopic animals to represent life in a drop of water. The sculptures were constructed mostly of recycled plastic and home building supplies. This project was funded in part by an ArtSpark Grant from the Acadiana Center for the Arts.
