DELANEY MILLER
VISUAL ARTIST

I make ceramic work that explores existentialism through themes of life and death, luck and choice, and the dynamic between predator and prey. I obsess over the balance between fate and free will through symbolic illustrations:
Rabbits as vulnerability and the paradoxical nature of the association of their dismemberment with luck;
Snakes as deceptive predators;
Spirals as mental loops over existential thoughts, and the association with the potter’s wheel as well as the cyclical, repetitive nature of the ceramic process itself.
