Eliza Mai Hinrichs, is a New-Orleans born oil painter and pattern designer. Art in every form has always been the center of her life. Painting is her opportunity to play, push boundaries, and explore. Pattern making is where she marries her passions in order to create functional art to decorate the world. She is inspired by all the colors and textures that exist within the small intricacies of the world. Her curiosity is what drives her, aiming to translate the imagined worlds reflected in her universe. She is passionate about urging viewers to see their environment from a new perspective. Eliza is currently earning her BFA in painting at University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is a frequent vendor of art markets in the region selling her art on the streets hoping to inspire and connect. Her work has been shown in the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, the Acadiana Center for the Arts in Lafayette, University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Fletcher Hall, as well as other galleries and publications in Louisiana.
