"I am interested in the intersection of materials, processes, visuals, and ideas. My work is inspired by ideas such as quantum physics and communication. In quantum physics, particles can be anywhere at any time, so it is theorized that parallel universes could exist. One of the key themes in my work is the idea that there are infinite possibilities both in assemblage art and in life. My wood collage work allows for infinite combinations of colors, patterns and ideas. It also lends itself to the addition of many different materials. I have used reclaimed wood, reclaimed plexiglass, found metal, fabric and vinyl. I have recently started collaging canvas onto dried latex paint, reclaimed from old house paint. This is an area I would like to develop, as the latex has a malleability the wood and plexiglass do not. The addition of this more flexible medium also will lend itself to installation work, which I would like to expand in my practice."
