Lindsay McAnally
Baker, Visual Artist
Lindsay McAnally is a local baker and artist who uses cake as a medium to explore the complex emotions that arise when dealing with grief, loss, and memory. Raised in New Iberia, Louisiana and based in Lafayette, Lindsay combines distinct flavors, textures, and colors to create edible, ephemeral art that speaks to the fleeting and multifaceted nature of the human experience. Her process aims to bridge the gap between the edible art found on plates in the culinary world and the protected works found on pedestals in galleries; creating space for food in an unexpected place. Drawing inspiration from personal loss and gustatory memories, Lindsay's work invites viewers to engage with grief through taste, texture, and visual storytelling in an aim to reshape the perception of cake from a simple celebratory treat to a vessel for emotional depth.
