Margot Infanti

Director, Animator

Margot is a director and stop motion animator. Trained as an actress, she studied at the Conservatoire of Brussels before moving between theatrical work and teaching. As part of that journey, she led puppet-making workshops in Hablingbo, Sweden — an experience that highlighted her long-standing love for crafting, which she had already been exploring through crochet and needle felting.

Bringing all her interests together, she now creates stop motion animation videos with her sister Louise, focusing mainly on directing, crafting, and animation.

Louise and Margot are two sisters who grew up together in Belgium. After following different yet complementary career paths, they launched a project in late January 2024 that they had been dreaming about for a long time: working together to create stop motion animation videos.

Working within tight budget and time constraints, they strive to build poetic and surprising worlds — small universes that, in just a few seconds, can evoke emotion and invite the viewer’s imagination to expand the story or world beyond what is shown. Their work is crafted almost exclusively using needle-felted wool, chosen both for its aesthetic qualities and for the transparency and flexibility it allows.

They intentionally preserve a raw and imperfect aesthetic in their videos, allowing the texture and magic of stop motion to come through the screen. Their approach stands in contrast to the rise of AI-generated imagery and its often polished, seamless look. Instead, they aim to highlight the value of handcraft and the beauty of imperfection.
