Missy Maloney
Visual Artist
Missy Maloney is a visual artist living and working in Breaux Bridge, LA. Her practice, the past few years, has included small acrylic geometric paintings that reflect her interest in the local landscape. The flip side of her practice includes ink, charcoal or paint marker blind drawings that are more spontaneous than the geometric work and emphasize chance, surprise and allow the conscious mind to take somewhat of a backseat.
Missy studied art at ULL when it was USL and at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. She graduated in art from the University of New Orleans. Drawing and painting have been a primary focus the past 11 years. Prior to that she had a part time studio practice while busy with an equally rewarding profession as a Social Worker and psychotherapist.
She has exhibited in group shows locally and regionally. Each of the three pieces shown below have been placed into private collections.
