Mya Budden
Interdisciplinary artist
Mya Budden (Louisiana, b. 2003) is an interdisciplinary artist exploring a variety of mediums, primarily sculpture and digital methods. Focusing on creativity and the arts throughout her life, she eventually received her BFA in New Media and Digital Art from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Spring 2025.
With heavy emphasis on texture and the dichotomy between cuteness and discomfort, Mya's work typically lies in the context of romanticization as a part of life with an eating disorder. She strives to create pieces based on her experiences with anorexia without using the visuals of an emaciated body. By choosing unconventional imagery to portray these themes, she intends to help push the conversation surrounding eating disorders beyond physical appearances and into the resulting psychological detriments.
