SK "Lain" Stevenson
Visual Artist
SK "Lain" Stevenson has been an artist since out the womb. Picked up a crayon around two years old, and never stopped since. As they grew up, they dabbled in a multitude of mediums: digital, sculpture, acrylic, sketch, you name it. Because of this love for all things art, Lain decided traditional mixed media and digital work was the way to go. Most of their professional background comes from freelance digital commissions and collaborations with clients over the years, including designing other people's characters, some merchandise design, and custom gifts.
Lain's skills are homegrown through practice and observation. The only sort of academic-related anything when it comes to artwork that happened in their life was being in the Gifted and Talented program from elementary to middle school many years ago, one of their mentors being Paul Schexnayder, a well-renowned colorblind artist based in New Iberia. Due to home-life complications, they had to cut their attendance to the program short. Lain's personal life forcefully got in the way of their aspirations during their adolescence and most of their adult life, making art school or any sort of art classes out of reach. Artwork was one of the few safe-spaces Lain had, and so they flourished quietly in their corner of the world until the fog could clear. Now, free and fitting more comfortably in their skin, their art is more than deserving of being seen by a larger audience.
